I have worked with Laura for over a year.  I had never connected before how my stress affected my eating habits.  I never thought about it being even partly a spiritual problem.  I started to realize that I was using food like I used to use alcohol.  It was an unexpected realization. I have lost and kept off over 23 lbs, incorporated exercise into my daily routine, and completely changed the way I think about eating. In a weak moment, I can still go to town on anything sweet, but Laura’s voice is in my head the whole time and she has shown me how to get back on track quickly.  She has been a great support for me in this process.

Before working with Laura I had accepted the fact that I was getting older, gaining weight and having less strength and stamina was part of it. Laura saw what I needed and worked with me to build a plan that was easy for me to follow.  That made a huge different in my energy level and I lost the 30 extra pounds I was carrying around.  The main thing I wanted was to play better tennis and to still be able to have some pizza and a beer or 2 on Saturday.   I was pleasantly surprised at how easy my plan was to follow and how much I enjoyed it.

I met Laura about 3 years ago.  I was 25 pounds heavier than now and hadn’t worked out in years, even though I used to do triathlons. Laura helped me change how and what I ate. My husband and I love to eat and cook, but we learned that we could make recipes just as delicious but far less fattening. We also learned how to manage how much we ate. I started exercising again.  Now, I have kept the weight off and I still work out regularly.  Laura also taught me how to catch myself when I start to gain the weight back.  That’s the main reason I have kept it off and know that I can.

Laura taught me the most freeing thing – how to choose what to eat without having to follow somebody else’s idea of a diet. I never felt like I was on a diet.  I just felt like I was taking better care of myself.  I have always admired Sophia Loren who has aged so gracefully.  At my age, 69, I am still going strong and still feel attractive. I thought if Sophia could do it, maybe I could too.  Laura showed me how and helped me not just lose weight but achieve what I really wanted overall – looking better, feeling better and being generous to me in my self-care.

Meet Laura Fulford

Laura Fulford is the Founder and Co-author of the Stop Dieting for Life System.  She graduated from Wake Forest University with a B.S. in Exercise Science.  Laura is a certified Life Coach and Wellness Coach. She battled her weight for nearly 4 decades before learning she was trying to solve the wrong problem with all the wrong solutions.
