Counting calories, is it in or out? Recently listening to a podcast, I heard a discussion that discouraged counting calories, suggesting that it was not only useless, but misleading. While I didn’t disagree with some of the discussion in theory, I am not ready to dismiss the idea in practice. Before you rule it out as a tool in your weight loss toolbox, I recorded a short video series to explore whether counting calories might still be worth considering. After these 7 short videos, I hope you will find yourself in a much better position to decide for yourself: to count, or not to count…that is the question
In Video 1, I provide the definition of a calorie. The geek in me wants you to know that when we are speaking of the calories we eat, we are really talking about kilocalories, and sometimes you will see the word calorie spelled with a capital “c.” Nevertheless, I thought it would be a good idea to make sure we are all talking about the same thing when we use the word Calorie. So, video 1 will get us started off on the same page!
